The Bolts & Nuts Set B is part of the Practical Life exercises to guide children in develop their life-skills. “A child’s work is to create the man he will become. An adult works to perfect the environment but a child works to perfect himself”, so wrote Dr Maria Montessori in “The Discovery of the Child” 1948. By constant repetition The Child develops and strengthens his muscles and the memory of the movement and indirectly the particular practical skill that is being developed and honed, which will remain with him throughout his lifetime. This is the benefit of the Practical Life exercises developed by Dr Montessori. The Bolts & Nuts Set B is designed to teach a child how to screw a nut onto a bolt. The nut is shaped like a door-knob. The material has 5 different size bolts but similar size knobs. These are beautifully designed to fit a toddlers hand comfortably in red. The use of tools is an important skill set to master from an early age, and this set of the Nuts and Bolts material helps develop the ability to recognize and manipulate threaded bolts of different sizes. Asking children to screw the nuts is also a classic Montessori Practical Life activity to refine fine motor skills. The set consists of a wooden block with five different-sized threaded nuts affixed inside, along with five matching bolts each with a large round knob for easy grasping. Match the bolt with its corresponding nut and screw it in snug. An excellent companion to Nuts & Bolts - Set A. 5 different sized bolts with matching nuts in a wood block Large round knobs for easy grasping and manipulation
